“Job_Description”: “LEAD ONCOLOGY PHARMACIST\r\nMust have LEAD experience\r\nMust have ONCOLOGY experience\r\n\r\nPay ranges: $62.00-$72 an hour\r\n\r\nCurrent New York State Pharmacy license and registration required. \r\nCompletion of PGY2 Oncology Residency and/or Board Certification in Oncology (BCOP) is preferred. \r\nIn lieu of residency/board certification, at least 1 years of time spent preparing/evaluating chemotherapy regimens is required. \r\nFamiliarity and experience in developing processes and procedures to meet USP 797, USP 800 and all other regulatory requirements for compounding sterile preparations is required. \r\n\r\nDevelops, coordinates, and maintains records for employee training for chemotherapy preparation\r\nPrepares and maintains any policies specific to chemotherapies and/or biologic medications\r\nWorks with pharmacy and infusion center staff to optimize workflow and limit delays to patient care\r\nChemotherapy Inventory and Procurement\r\na.\tAssists Pharmacy Buyer in maintaining adequate medication inventory to minimize drug waste \r\nb.\tRoutinely reviews areas of the pharmacy inventory to ensure adequate stock levels/arrangement and removes drugs that are outdated or no longer utilized. \r\nReviews all chemotherapy order sheets for accuracy and optimization\r\na.\tCompares to National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines or study protocol and attaches reference to order sheet\r\nb.\tCoordinates with provider to round to nearest vial sizes to reduce waste\r\nc.\tEnsures stability of diluent chosen\r\nd.\tEnsures compounded medications are within recommended concentration ranges\r\ne.\tMonitors life-time doses for medications with cumulative dose limits (e.g. doxorubicin)\r\nNew formulary medications used in the Oncology/Infusion Center\r\na.\tAssists Pharmacy Buyer in completion of the New Drug Checklist\r\nb.\tDevelops and implements education for pharmacy and oncology staff for new medications\r\nc.\tIdentifies necessary drug-specific alerts (e.g. requires use of in-line filter) and informs Information System Pharmacist or Pharmacy Buyer to add to Drug Dictionary as label comment\r\nContacts and confers with infusion center providers/nursing staff if there are any questions or irregularities regarding medication orders. \r\nAssists prior authorization staff to ensure that therapies will be covered by patients insurance\r\nUpon request, assists the infusion center staff with patient counseling and medication reconciliation”,
